PENSIONS FOR THE AGED CONTRIBUTORY- SCHEME (British Official Wireless.) EUGBY, sth January. The first payment of pensions under the contributory scheme to persons between 65 and 70 years of age who have been 'insured under the health insurance sehemo are being mad© to-day, and it is estimated that the amount of additional money disbursed by bring his scheme into operation, will distribute £.125,000 a week. By means .of the health and unemployment insurance and contributory old age pensions, working men and women, are now provided by the State against the more serious misfortunes of life.
