MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., presided at to-day's sitting of the Magistrate's Court. Charged with assaulting A van Murdock bo as to cause him actual bodily harm, Anker Jakob Karlo Jensen, aged 37, was remanded to 11th January. It was a - leged that Murdock, iwho was in hospital, had been 6truck by Jensen and rendered unconscious. Cecil Francis Jellie, a salesman, aged 30, who admitted stealing a raincoat valued at' £■ 1 15s. from the Salvation Army Home in Tasman street, and a bag, valued at 10b, from the Maunganui, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment on each charge, the terms to be cumulative. Frederick John Deen Board, a carpenter, aged 40, was remanded to 11th January on a charge of breaking and entering the warehouse of the Excelsior Supply Co., 86, Manners street, and stealing pens and pencils to the value of £30. DetectiveSergeant Holmes said that another charge, involving £600, would be preferred against the accused." Bail was renewed in the sum of £300, with two sureties of £150 each. H. J. Baldwin, a resident of the New Settlement, Lower Hutt, was charged at Hie Lower Hutt Police Court yesterday, before Mr. G. A. Chapman, .1.1., with the theft of timber valued at £5, the property of the Lower Hutt Borough Council. Ho was remanded till Wednesday, ball being allowed.
