A BAD YEAR
N.S.W. COALFIELDS MINERS' POOR EARNINGS (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 6th January, noon.) SYDNEY, This Day. The last year was one of the worst experienced by the miners oh the South Maitlaud coalfields for many years. Pelawmain and Aberdare were the only colliories which workprt more than 200 days, while the records for previous years show that over twelve collieries were on or about the 200-day mark. Trouble over deputies, and floods, were responsible for over three weeks of lost time, But sectional stoppages and slackness of trade accounted for many lost days. Out of thirteen pays up to the end of the year some miners drew less than two days per fortnight.
