PORT NICHOLSON BAND.

The Sunday night recital to bo given in the Grand Opera House to-morrow by the Port Nicholson Band promises to be one of tlie most successful jet arranged by the popular combination. Assisting the band will be several well-known artists, including Mrs. Edward Cameron. Miss Ifa M'Laren will be heard in "Hamo o' Mine"; Mr. Tom J Jenkins, a tenor, will sine "Friend"; Mr. P. A. Brady, a baritone, will be heard in "Captain Mac"; Mr. Billy Hart, the radio favourite, will give Items from his repertoire; and Mr W. Barke will play the cornet solo "The Nightingale." Mr. Wilfrid C. Kohn will act as accompanist. The band items have been carefully selected and Include, by request, ih i hymn, "Bradford," arranged by Mr. H. Scotney, the - well-known local musician; march, "Stars and Stripes"; patrol, "Paddy's Patrol"march, "Boulder City." Intending patrons are advised to be early, the recital commencing at B.la p.m. Commencing on Monday, 19th December, at 8 p.m., and continuing dally from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m., a band Christmas bazaar will be held on the first floor of Veitch and Allan's Building, at the corner of Cuba and ■ Vivian streets. The band will at each session give away several of the larcest-size rocking horses, poultry, aluminium, etc. Admission will bo free, and the proceeds of the bazaar will be in aid of the band contest fund.
