QUEEN'S THEATRE.

"California," tho chief picture at the Queen's Theatre this week, is an historical romance taken from one of Peter B. Kyne's famous novels. The story tells of a young captain and his regiment, who wins the friend-' ship of his enemies, the Califomians, who at first will have nothing to do with them, believing them to be "foreigners." Tim M'Coy plays the part of Captain Gillespie, who is ordered by the President of the United States to march with his regiment to Sacramento Valley to protect the people residing there from an attack threatened by tho Califomians. Captain Gillespie arrests the leader, Del Roy, during which Incident he is shot by the girl he loves, Dorothy Sebastian, who plays the part of Dona Carlotta Del Rey. Again tho President tells the young captain to march, this time to tho aid of one hundred of his own men against seven hundred Californiftus. Once more his regiment wins, and this time he aIBO succeeds in winning the love of Carlotta. Supporting this feature picture is a gazette and a scenic-comedy. The seventh series of

"The Collegians," featuring George Lewis and Dorothy Gulliver, is also shown, tills week's episode being .called "Tho Relay." Excellent incidental music is played by the Queen's Quality Quintette. The programmo will be repeated this evening, and again next week.
