COMPETITIONS.
The tenth, anr&al festival of the Wellington Musical and Elocutionary Competitions Society ■will commence at the Town Hall on Saturday next at 10 a.m. The entries total over 2400. Prominent musicians from overseas appreciate the value of competitions; thus bringing 'out the'latent talent in every country. Dame Nellie' Melba. speaking of the Ballarat Society, said "The Ballarat Society, must go on; it is an educational factor throughout Australia." The Wenlneton Society will hold three sessions daily.
