FELLED WITH A CROWBAR
AVENGING VOJKOFFS DEATH

\VAKSAW, 10th August. While in the prison yard Howerda, who was sentenced to imprisonment for life, with a recommendation that it be commuted to fifteen years, for the murder of M. Voikoff, tho Minister Plenipotentiary of tho Soviet' Government at Warsaw, was felled' with a crowbar and seriously injured by a fellow-prisoner. It is believed that the latter tried to. avenge the murder of Voikoff.
