BELMONT AFFAIRS.
Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather a very well-attended meeting of ratepayers in the Behnont district met at the Belmont Churchroom last night and decided to re-establish the Belmont Progressive Association to advance local interests. A "committee was elected. A general meeting will be held next week at which the chairman of the County Council and Mr. Dyer, the member for the Epuni Riding, will be invited to attend to discuss the increase o£ the rates and pressing local matters.
