DEFINING PETROL
NEW METHOD INVENTED

Th«ri LONDON, Bth August. xbe Cologne correspondent of "The limes reports that it is announced that, as the result of negotiations beg7 ee£ f er,? a» hen and the Standard Oil Company, a new method of petrol refining has been evolved in connection with coal distillation. The chief value of the process is that interior petrol can be converted into high quality by operations involving the use of very high pressure. It is understood that the Farben Industrie is combining with the Standard Oil Company in commercialising the process. Further negotiations will be conducted in the United States. The operations -will be earned out on a large scale at the Oppan factories. It is expected that the petrol will be placed on the market early in 1928.
