Mr. Garnet Partus, of Sydney Universxty secretary of the "Bound Table" on tho British Empire at Williamstown Institute of Political Eelations, interviewed, said Americans were more interested in foreign affairs than Australians. The number of voluntary institutions here discussing public questions is far ahead of Australia. He nuds that the majority of Americans are convinced of State rights, and strongly opposed to the central authority encroaching on local rights. He thinks that Americans would have sympathised with the negation of the proposed amendment to the Australian Constitution last year.
