LONDON, 27th July. Obituary: Solomon • Joseph Solomon, >, P.R.8.A., the well-known artist, from heart failure.
The late Mr. Solomon, who was 66 -■ years of age, Was president of the Boyal - Institute of British Architects in 1918. >« At the beginning of the Great War hs -7.^ drew attention to the need of camou- : * flage in modern warfare, and initiated ' it in the British Army. He was creat- ■> ed a lieutenstnt-colonel in the Boyal ■ Engineers, and in 1916 introduced th& " 'jfishing net," the basis of the effective British camouflage during the war* '
