Police cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day were dealt with.by Mr. E. Page, S.M. .

Two charges of stealing saddles anu bridles of a total valne: of £12 ss, and a further charge of stealing a horse worth £.20, were, admitted, by Thomas Christian Jensen,- a labourer, aged 31. Chief-Detective Ward, said that one saddle and bridle were taken from a stable near Patea, after which the accused went to Manakau, where he stole the others. The horse was also stolen at ilanakau, where Jensen took it from a paddock. Shortly afterwards the accused received one. month's imprisoument for converting a motor-car to his own use, and while he was in gaol he attempted to sell the horse, which he had left with a farmer. At present Jensen was serving a term of three months' imprisonment for a breach of his probationary license. The Magistrate imposed a sentence of six months' imprisonment on each charge, the terms to be concurrent with one another.and with that which Jensen is at present serving.

Frank James Arthur Duke and Eric Terence O'Shea, two labourers, aged 20 and 21 respectively, were jointly charged with the theft at Auckland of a hat worth £2 10s. Duke was also charged with the theft of an overcoat valued at £3 10s. On the application, of the Chief-Distective, who said that other charges were pending, tho accused were remanded to appear next Monday. One first offender for drunkenness was fined 10s, the amount of his bail.
