ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW

Sir, —Much wrangling is going on ber tween Mr. Boberts, of the Alliance ot Labour, and the Welfare League over the relief workers giving work up to the standard of pay received. ,1 would like, as a relief worker, to say to these clamouring people—" hands, or pens, off! " i ?■

We have had a Lard time sinceMarcK last, many of us, and the men who cama on after the work was started; too.' Overseers and gangers have seen that no loafing was done on thejob. Many, of us, most of us, in fact, hard pressed men out of work and anxious to get anything to do to keep_ the home fires burning, went to work in. the open and did our poor best. Others, used to hardf toil, set to work with a will, and anyone who cares to take a journey from Johnsonville to Tawa Flp>can see that the new works have progressed soundly, at 12s and 9s, without any help from Mr. Boberts or the Welfare League. It ill becomes these . warring people to; make a game, before the public, of -the needs of hard-pressed men. We can; (and have already) address ourselves to a wrong done us, and through the Department and Minister this has been; righted without- recourse to Mr. Boberta or the Welfare League. - ■..-_..-...,:.-.'
