UNEMPLOYMENT
IN THE WAIRARAPA

MASTERTON, 17th June: A meeting of unemployed was held in Mastorton to-night, over 80 being present. It was stated that there were over 100 men in town at present out of work. A committee was sot up to approach tho Borough Council and the County Council requesting tho commencement of some relief work, and also to communicate a request to the Minister of Public Works to proceed with relief gangs on Mount Bruce highway between Eketahuna and Masterton, as was promised several weeks ago or to commence Public Work jobs in somo other part of tho Wairarapa.
