CANTERBURY ACTIVITIES

CHEISTCHURCH,.This Day. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Hockey" Association received a notice from Auckland 'that it was proposed to commence the tournament on 4th. August. It. was decided to ask the selector .to ascertain tho possibilities of securing a team.
The register keeper reported that the present season's registrations wo .the highest for ten years, being 515. It ,was decided to advise the referees to report all players" not turning out in proper club colours. '.
The New Zealand Association forwarded particulars regarding the coming Australian tour. Tho question of suitable players was left to the selector, and it was decided to ..nominate Mr. W. Williamson for the position of manager of the team. ■ '. .
