Wesley were more than a match for Wellington,, and play in both spells was more or less confined to the latter's territory. Within a few minutes, Guy, Wellington's custodian, was called upon to defend his i«t, Browne sending in a fast shot which Guy sent behind with a remarkable save. The Wesley forwards had most of the ball in the subsquent play and Browne was more lucky with his next attempt, beating Guy by inches for a corner of the net. Wesley 1, Wellington 0. Armstrong was dangerous for Wellington after the next bully, but Chantrell, Wesley's fine English centre-half, transferred to Rouse. The latter centred well to Johnston, who made no mistake with 'his.shot. Wesley 2, Wellington 0. ■ Early in the second spell, Boys, Wesley's custodian, fell in averting a shot and blocked the Wellington forward, a penalty bully against the former being successfully taken by Stuart. Wesley 2, Wellington 1. Guy was almost uncniuvy in the closing stages, saving timo and again, lint he could not prevent Browne and House from gclt.iii.T through to make the final sc-n'-c: Wesley i.
