Apples.—Condition of Horatius is good. Soft fruit season has begun, but supplies small and not yet affecting apples, for which market is firm. Prices are as follows:—Cleopatra, 16s to 18s; Jonathan* Stunner, Statesman, 14s to 16s up to 17s; JJehcious, Dunn's Favourite, Rome Beauty, Stark, and Ballarat Seedling. 14s to 16s; Premier, Wolseley, London Pippin, Us to 15s. . f Hemp.—Manila market firm, with atx improved demand for close at hand. "A". grade May-June shipments sold £44 lfe, June-August shipments quoted sellers £44. Sisal market quiet, Tanganyika No. 1. June-August shipments quoted sellers £38/ and No. 2 £37. New Zealand: Better demand for lower grades, common and rejected alioat sol.l £33 10s. and £32 10s, For June-July shipments possible buyers might- pay New Zealand sellers £33 and £S>.
