WELLINGTON DEFEATED. _ The 'Varsity team was on .the. attack throughout its match against Wellington, and was easily the superior Learn. Wellington held its opponents well in the nrst half, however, and at half-time the score was only 1-0 in .favour of 'Varsity. Kead netting a few minutes after the start of the^garae. The students pushed home the attack in the second spell, and Wellington had no chance of scoring. The game was very even throughout, and by the half-time spell'the.score stood at 2 goals each, Ferguson and Mead netting for the Y.M.C.A. and Hore and Carr for Wesley. Even play continued'through the second spell, and Steptoe and Waugh added, to Y.M.CA.'s score. Wesley made an effort in the last few minutes, however, and Turner scored, but they were too late to make up the deficiency, the game ending 4 goals to 3in favour of Y!m.C.A. Air. T!.
