QUEEN'S THEATRE.

"Desert Valley," a most exciting picture which features Buck Jones, was shown for the first time at the Queen's Theatre last night. Buck Jones and his almost human horse are at their best, while beautiful Virginia Brown Faire takes the part of the leading lady in a delightful manner. The cause of most of the trouble unfolded in the picture .is Malcolm Waite, a selfish large ranch o-vner, who is trying to ruin the smaller ranchers by not allowing them to water their iattle, the result being that the stock belonging to the small men is gradually dying off,' leaving the various owners desperate. Buck Jones on the present occasion is a cowboy who roams from ranch to ranch, and on reaching one of these small holdings he sees what is happening. To help them he put a hole through the water-pipe, an incident which causes a lot of laughter and excitement among the- audience. V- Although the raid on the pipe causes one of the small ranchers to be put in prison for a short time, it turns out all right in the end. Supporting- the star picture is a Gazette, showing Gertrude Edefle at the Niagara Palls, while a scenic showing scenes in Old Virginia is also screened. Excellent incidental music played by the Queen's Select Orchestra completes til* select programme, which will be repeated this evening and again next week.
