FOUR MONTHS' CRUISE

EUGBY, 2nd June.

Bear-Admiral Pirot, commander of the French naval squadron ' visiting England, was received by the King at Buckingham Palace this morning. After being entertained this afternoon by the Corporation of London at the Guildhall COO men of the French squadron, accompanied by 150 British sailors, are participating in the Koyal Military Tournament at OJympia, whore the Navy, Army, and, Air Force are giving their annual display on behalf of servico charities. Two of the French warships now at Portsmouth, the Lamotto Picquet and the Jaguar, will leave on four months' cruise in the Atlantic at the end of the Portsmouth visit. They ■wijl go first to West Indies and visit French Guiana, Martinique, and Trinidad, and will then call at this principal ports on the east coast of South America.
