The Eear-Admiral commanding the French naval squadron visiting Portsmonth yesterday laid wreaths on the city's war memorials. Last night the officers > and 400 of the men attended a dinner in the Guildhall. The visitors are very popular with »British naval gradings and the people of Portsmouth, who yesterday visited the French ships in large numbers.
