(By Telegraph.)

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mr. It. Holland, M.P. for Christchurch North, returned to Christehuieh yesterday after an eight weeks' trip to Australia. Mr. Holland visited all the States except Tasmania.

According to Mr. Holland Australia appeared to be prosperous. He mentioned that in New South Wales the Railway Department was employing 3000 men in extending the electrical railway system. The building operations in Sydney were tremendous, and three and four-story buildings were being demolished to make way for biggor structures.

The newspapers said that in Melbourne there were 10,000 unemployed. In Sydney, although work seemed to be brisk, there had been 300 applications for one position.
