COLD AND CHANGEABLE WEATHER.

Heavy passing showers have been recorded in the east coast districts, and the weather has been cold and changeable generally, with strong, but decreasing southerly winds. A very cold night was experienced, and hard frosts were recorded in the south. An improvement in the weather has taken place in most parts of the country. The forecast is still for cold and changeable conditions, with passing showers, between East Cape and Kaikoura. The barometer shows little movement in the south, but it is rising in the north. Indicar tions are that some fair winter weather should be experienced after a few days.
