MR. GROUNDS SUPPORTED

(Special to "The Evening Post."

AUCKLAND, 30th May. the North Auckland Dairy ConJrerenc'e in connection with dairy con-

trol, Mr. E. HaTding (Northern Wairoa) -moved the following resolution: — "That this conference, representative of all dairy companies north of Auckland, reaffirms its confidence in Mr. Grounds and the original policy of the board. We deprecate tho intrusion of political influences into what is purely the dairy farmers' business, and believe the appointment to the London Agency by the Government of Mr. Stronach Paterson, well known to be strongly antagonistic to control,. has been seriously injurious to the prospect of co-operative marketing of New Zealand's dairy produce." The mover expressed sorrow and regret at the position into which Mr. Coates had been forced. "Regarding the board's operations, we do not know what forces were brought to bear to secure the appointment of Mr. Paterson, but it is the most deadly and unfortunate thing the industry has yet experienced,'' he said. The motion was carried unanimously.
