(By Telegraph.—Press Association^ WHANGAREI, 28th May. The Farmers' Union Conference concluded yesterday.

Remits were carried urging the appointment of a noxious weed board; that the Main Highways Board should concentrate its energy on financing the construction and the maintenance of those highways which would most facilitate an increase in primary production; that all hospital boards be elected distinctly ajid separately from the county councils, some of' which in North Auckland act in a dual capacity; that an institute other than a prison be set up to house unfortunate destitute persons on committal, and that it be self-supporting as far as possible; that farmers' co-operative companies' attention be drawn to overlapping of territories, resulting in. mutually destructive competition.
