A political storm which has been brewing for some time seems likely to be precipitated by a Note handed' to Lord Lloyd by the Premier, Sarwat Pasha, disputing the authority of the High Commissioner to interfere in army matters. Sarwat Pasha claims tlfat army reorganisation was not mentioned in the negotiations resulting in the declaration of independence in 1922. _ The tone of the newspapers and Parliament does not encourage the hope of an early settlement.
