DE LUXE THEATRE.

One increasing Purpose," the star attraction at the De Luxe Theatre, is the pictunsation of a tale by A. S. JU Hutchinson, of the same title, and has for its background such historic plale3 as the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Bridge, the Thames Embankment, Westminster Ab.;ey, the Tower of London, and famous 1 t :illy Circus, while there is also a rep?_..uction of the Kit Cat Club, one of the most exclusive in the Metropolis. The story tells of a young Englishman, who escapes from all the horrors of the Great War, only^ to find when he returns to his home that his set are indulging in an orgy of dissipation., Lila Lee, as the heroine, and Edmund Lowe, as the soldier, give splendid renderings of two really delightful chartacte™. The comedy picture included on the programme is breezy, and the Gazette is always up to the minute. The musical portion of the evening's entertainment showed careful selection, Mr. Emanuel Aarons's items on the Wurlitzer organ being particularly well received. The orchestral items include the overture "Musical Switch" and a novelty entr'acte.
