HEAVY GOING AT WINGATUI

PUNEDIN, This Day. ; After thirty-six hours' rain the Win{;atui course was very wet and heavy for training operations this morning-. Eaton Bells beat Eyed Ova over six furlongs, the last five taking lmin 16 2-ssec. I'holomon beat Luthy over the .same distance in 1min.,i7,.4,-.sseC". Coastguard was too good for Kaikahu and San. Salvador over a mile, done in 2mjn. Sweet Melody, ridden.out, ran five furlongs in lmin 14sec. Bonena beat Vaward and Koman Archer over ten furlongs, in 2min 38aec. Cartoon beat Maungamoe in the sprint home, after going ten furlongs at a strong pace... . .. Fairy Herald beat Lava over four furlongs, in 60sec. Cashmau outjumped Adjutor and beat hinv home over five schooling fences. King Sol beat Fairy Tidings over four furlongs, covered in 60sec. Overhaul easily beat Erin-go-Bragh over four furlongs, in 56sec. Wingatui was too good for Royal Tractor in a : sprint home over six furlongs. Clontarf beat Ecuador over five furlongs, the last four taking 59 l-ssec. Atapo beat Captain Sarto over seven furlongs, in lmin 44 3-ssec, and Arrowmir moved attractively over four furlongs, in 58aec. Goldtown had the better of Beauty Light over six furlongs, timed at lmin 23 l-ssec. Full Swing went ten furlongs, picked up Soltoe at the mile, the last soven taking lmin 43sec. Strathnaver beat Osterman over seSren furlongs in,lmin 47sec. Birkenella and First Mail set out for a round of the steeplechase fences. The latter got hung up over the brush, and Birkenella refused .the stand double. Neither performance was good. Ranui did good, Strong work on the flat. . : "
