BUSINESS IN EXPORTS
Senor Humberto Bidone, Argentine Con-sul-General in New Zealand reports that for the first two months of the current year the export trade of the Republic of Argentina was' of the value of 185,873,824 gold dollars, which represents an increase of 43,148,683 gold dollars, or 30.2 per cent over the total of 142,716,402 gold dollars during the same period of 1926. The most important, rise in quantity is in cereals and wool, the exports of which increased In the first two months of 1927.2,783,174 tons were shipped as against 1,325,583 In the same period of the previous year. The value increased less ,t° the decrease in prices, from r dollars in January -February of 1926 it amounted to 104,774,121 gold dollars in the same months of the present year, which implies nn increase of 50.2 per cent. As regards the exports of meat, it is shown that it reached 140,809 tons in the first two months of .1926, and to 160,724 tons in the same period of the current year. Notwithstanding the increase m volume and by reason of the decrease m prices, t the value of meat exports remained. almost constant, from 22,670 484 gold pesos in Janiiary-February, 1926, they Passed. to. 22,487,492 in the same period of the present year. The Argentine dollar is to-day at par with the pound sterling and American dollar.
