BIG FIRE IN MELBOURNE

MELBOURNE, This Day, Fire destroyed a building in the city, occupied by a number of firms. 'The . damage is estimated at £100,000. The stock in the building destroyed by/Jire was Valued at £ 80,000, making-.■■" the total damage £180,000.
The locality of the'fire is not stated, but it is understood from private messages received in Wellington to be in. the same neighbourhood as the great Flinders Lane fire, Melbourne's greatest conflagration, which occurred, in the 'nineties.
Wireless has been installed in Windsor workhouse. ■ ~--y--fr
