, The policy of giving Mendelssohn's dramatic oratorio "St. Paul" is one that will appeal to all real adherents of good music. This oratorio," which will be given at the Town Hall on Saturday, 4th June abounds in delightful solos arid choruses, and is noted for the dramatic intensity of the music. The soloist ■ soprano will be Miss Naomi Whalley, the young Palmerston singer, who-created such an impression m "The Messiah" ■ last December. 1-h.e contralto will be Miss Nora Greene a recent arrival from England, who has made ( numerous, appearances at the Queen s Hall, London, and in provincial towns. Mr. Edwin Dennis will be the tenor, whilst the important baritone role will be sustained by Mr. William Waiters An advertisement appears in this issue setting forth the interesting programme to be placed before the musical public for the 1927 season. There are vacancies in the union for. seventeen honorary members, the subscription being 2Gs for three tickets for each of three concerts.
