MYERS CUP
The annual match for the Myers Cup, between teams representing the Newmarket (Auckland) Railway Workshops, and the Petone Railway Workshops, was commenced at Petone yesterday, and is being concluded to-day. Petone batted first yesterday, and compiled 136 runs, the scores being: L. T. Cobcroft 0, B. Ross 6, F Senior 2, E. V. Edwards 39, H. Webster 1 J. Devine 4, T. Te Puni 0, B. M'Leod 0, J. Walker 34 not out, R. Nickless 6, Clev erley 26; extras 8. Newmarket replied with 112 for the loss of two wickets (A Rankm 18, A Gedye 18, A. Williams 38 not out, B. Stehr 26 not out; extras 12). Bowling: Newmarket, A. Rankih eight wickets for 44 runs, A. Williams one for 48, J. Elliott one for 23, G. Cleal none for 3; for Petone, Ross and Webster each took a wicket.
