'A team of eight players from the Keltmrn Club went to Carterton on Saturday and was defeated by' the country representatives. Although the detailed scores are not available, most of the games were closely contested, running to three''Setß, while the final doubles between the leading pairs of the two clubs, Roydhouse and Taverner ■ (Carterton) and Melody and Earle (Kelburn), ended C-5, 5-6, .12-10 iv favour of Carterton. Of the total of twelve matches, Kelburn won only two singles, Melody defeating Bunny and Berry defeating Taverner.
