ANNUAL ASSEMBLY

In connection with the meeting of th« Congregational Union of N.Z. now being held in Wellington, a motor drive and a garden party were held on Saturday afternoon. About 150 delegates and their hosts took part. The route takea wax the new road to Happy Valley, thence to Melhng, Lower Hutt, where Mr. D A Ewen entertained the party to afternoon tea.

Yesterday afternoon a missionary demonstration was successfully given by tha combined Congregational Sunday schools of the city. A missionary alphabet was gone through by the children. The Rev. H. Johnson presided, and he gave & very suitable and interesting address. The subject for discussion at to-night's public meeting at the Cambridge Terrace Church will be "Churchmanship," the speakers being the Revs. M. C. Pinch and Norman Burgess. The chair will be taken by Mr. A. W. Beaven. The annual meeting of the N.Z. Ladies"' Auxiliary of the London Missionary society was held on Friday in the Cambridge Terrace Church under the presidency of Mrs. E. R. Weeks. The Rev A W.. M'Millan, late of India, was the speaker. Mrs. Harris sang the solo, "O £r% ''ffi -W^ ngs of a Dove'" Miss Heather Mill officiating at the piano. Half a dozen young ladies in the costumes of India, China, Madagascar, and the South Seas told of the needs of their people and asked for love and prayers of their Western sisters. Mrs. Pinfold and Mrs. Collin* presented greetings from the Methodist and Baptist women respectively, and the secretary read the annual report, which showed good work done in the six affiliated auxiliaries throughout the Dominion*
