OLD BOYS' CLUB
■ ''It is with n.o small amount of gratification that the committee can report a new record in the active membership of the club, as well as in the number of teams in the various grades," states the annual report of the Wellington College, Old Boys' Football Club, to be presented at the annual meeting In Bethune's rooms, to-night.." "For' the last three; seasons the club has been able to increase, by one each year, the number of teams under its control. It can be said, therefore, that'the club is faithfully carrying -out its objects as laid down in.the club's rules, viz., 'The promotion of the game of football amongst' Old Boys 'of Wellington College.' "•■■ From a playing point of view theclub was'not so' successful as its supporters would likej or as the ability of its players' would seem to deserve. This applies to all'the teams "with the exception of the 4th A and sth - ade' teams,, which both did well in' their respective competitions. Altogether 167 members played during the season, and the fact, that;this number was required to maintain eight teams proves that the club experienced more than its fair share of casualty and sickness. The following -players gained representative honours:—Senior: S. L. Bedell, I. D. Bramwell.'i Hi li. Grenfell, J. A. Malcolm/ C. M'Pherson, C, A. Bushbrook. ■■:■ Sehior B: E. K. Beid. Junior: C, Patrick.; .Fourth: A. A. Grant,' A. G. Sadler.' Fifth f W Dusting J. A. Malcolm gained'a place in the North Island'team.
