THREE-POINT WIN FOR OLD BOYS.

A three-point win was secured by Old Boys from University at the Kilbirnie Reserve. To University's first day total of 182 Old Boys, playing one man short, replied with 324. James gave .a bright display with the bat for Old Boys, and was top scorer. On the first day James put on 17, and, carrying on on Saturday, he brought his score up to 88, when he was run out. H. Bailey was also in form, and compiled an attractive 74. He was going well when he was caught by Hutchings oft" one of R. Tripe's deliveries. University tried seven bowlers, and of these A. Tripe, who secured three wickets for 62 runs, proved the most successful. Old Boys' innings concluded at 4.25 p.m., and University sent Hollings and Osborn to the wickets again.
