' Dean Mtehett, M.A., who has resigned as Vicar of AH Saints', where he serv. eel for N forty-seven years, is an outstanding man and a prominent member tit' an outstanding family. He is a notable preacher and tho community recognises his as a master mind. His degree of M.A. comes from tho New Zealand University. He won the B.A. in 1878 after studying at the Otago University, and his M.A. in 1882. His diploma us Doctor of Divinity was awarded by the Trinity University of Torton. He was made Dean of Dunedin in 1594.

His services to tho public include the following: Member of the High School Board of Governors, of which ho became chairman; locum teuens for the Chair of Classics at the Otago University; lecturer in Classics at Selwyn College; author of "Evolution and Ethics" and "The Christian Ministry, Whence Derived?" 'To tho Church of England he has been a most faithful minister ever since he was appointed Vicar of All Saints', ana he has on several occasions held the post oi Bishop's commissary. .
