The kelson Harbour Board on Weenies day unanimously resolved to make remission to the extent of Is 6d in the £ on the harbour rates for the financial year ending on 30th September next. The board decided to adhere to its bylaw limiting tiie weight of motor-lorries on the wharves to 5 tons. In special cases application for heavier weights may be made to the secretary, who will refer the matter to the chairman. During the past mouth SS vessels entered and left tho port. Inward cargo totalled 7042 tons and outward 3008 tons. After a lengthy and lively discussion the Waimea County Council decided ''That proper steps be taken to revoke all special orders declaring main roads within the Waimea County." It was unanimously decided to support the Stoke people's protest against the proposed mental hospital extensions iv that locality. Mr. W. 11. Savage, general secretary o[ the Kelson branch of the V.M.C.A., leaves on Monday to take up the position of art master at Marlborough College. He was farewelled ou Thursday evening by members of the V.M.C.A. and presented with a gold-mounted fountain-pen suitably inscribed*
