THREE FIBEMEN INJURED

Momentarily trapped in the flames when the wind changed suddenly, three firemen received burns, about the hands and face while attempting to subdue an outbreak of fire in some gorse in the Kaiwarra Gorge yesterday afternoon. Fireman Patrick Weakley, of the Thorndon Brigade, was admitted to the Hospital, where he is making satisfactory progress, and Third-Officer Hall and Fireman Remy, of the Central Brigade, were given first-aid treatment at the institution.
