PLAGUE OF FLIES

CHRISTCHURCH," This Day*. The Wigrani Aerodrome at Sockburn was recently visited by a plague of flies. The oflicer-in-charge (Captain Findlay) .wrote to the Paparua County Council about the matter and complained that a most offensive smell was created by the Canterbury By-products Company at'Sockbnrn. He said that when the wind was blowing from a certain direction the living .quarters were almost unbearable. Members of the council visited the works and expressed dissatisfaction with the drainage.
It was decided to write to the Parliamentary representatives and the district Officor p! Health. ■ "
