THE ROYAL VISIT
CLOSE HOLIDAY ON 7TH-MARCH
Though the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York is yet some little time ahead, remarked the Mayor, Mr. C. B. Norwood, to a "Post" reporter to-dayj and final arrangements had still to be made as to details of Wellington's welcome, it was advisable to give early notification of his intention to ask citizens to observe one day during the Royal stay in Wellington as a close holiday. He considered that Monday, 7th March, was the most suitable day for the general holiday suggested by the Internal Affairs Department, and he would shortly make a formal appeal to citizens in that regard.
