DUTY OF JUDGE
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evenr' Post.")
AUCKLAND, This Day. Albert "Wright, who was found guilty of an indecent act on a male, was sent to gaol for three years by Mr. Justice Herdman. "In the Auckland province," said his Honour, "these offences are always before the Courts, and it is' smy duty to check them. Punishment acts as a deterrent. You have been convicted of vagrancy, theft, and drunkenness, and for this offence you will go to gaol for three years, with hard labour."
