PICNICS.
The annual picnic of Read and Fenwick, Ltd., was held at Maldstone Park, with an attendance of about 120, and, under Ideal weather conditions, a most enjoyable day was spent. At the conclusion of the sports events, the managing director (Mr. Evans) presented the prizes, as follow:—Men's 100 yds: A. Hillock 1, T. Thompson 2. Youths' 220 yds: F. Kadford 1, Hillock 2. Boys' Quoits: O'Shea 1, Hillock 2. Men's Backward Race: Hillock 1, Badford 2. Ladies' Nail Driving: Mrs. Mulholland 1, Mrs. Radford 2. Ladles' Quoits: Mrs. Callum 1, Mas Hudson 2. Guessing Competition : Mrs. Mulholland 1, Miss Wharton 2. Single Ladies' Race: Miss Miller 1, Miss Colly 2. Married Ladies' Race: Mrs. Paton 1, Mrs. Weekley 2. Married Men's Race: Mr. Paton 1, Mr. Thompson 2. Wheelbarrow Race: R. Greeks and Miss Radford 1, C. Colly and Miss Colly 2. Three-legged Race: Mr. Paton and Miss Miller 1, Mr. Colly and Miss Radford 2. Cigarette Race: Paton and Miss Hudson 1, Hillock and Miss Miller 2. Thread-me-Needle Race: Radford and Mrs. Badford 1, Paton and Miss Hudson 2.
