BAND CONTEST.
Elaborate preparations are being made to ensure the success of the New Zealand championship, band contest which commences in Wellington on Monday; 21st February. The committee has.made arrangements with the Railway Depart-: ment to run a 'special train, from New Plymouth to Wellington on Sunday,.2oth February, to pick up. bands from New mouth and intermediate. towns; A return train has been arranged for Sunday, 27th February. The general public may also travel on these special trains at excursion rates. ■
