HUMPHREY BISHOP MUSICAL COMEDY COMPANY.
After an absence of two years and a half, spent in successful seasons in the capitals and inland cities of Australia, the Humphrey Bishop Musical Comedy Co. will return to Wellington for a short season at the Grand Opera House, commencing on 23rd February. Those who had the pleasure of attending the. performances of this very delightful combination v of talent on their last visit will be glad to learn that many of their old favourites are still with the company, whilst the newcomers in every way uphold the standard of excellence that has become synonymous with the name of Humphrey Bishop. Everyone's taste is catered for, and the long programme is replete with change. There is comedy—broad and sutble—dancing, stately, grotesque, and syncopated—singing of opera, of ballad, and of the very newest jazz. The frocking of the girls delights the ladies particularly, for they will recognise fashion combined with, taste, set off to advantage by the smart Bond street cut of the men's wear. The scenery was specially painted by one of London's foremost scenic artists. The orchestra is under the baton of Humphrey Bishop himself.
