HOMING PIGEONS.
The Petone Homing Pigeon Club held itß last race of the season recently from Houhora, a distance of 450 miles, for a trophy given by Mr. D. E. M'lntyre. The following were the results:—G. Culshaw's blue ehq. cock. Some Lad, velocity 935 yards per mm, 1; W, Smith's blue chq. hen, Hen's Luck, 884 yards per mm., 2; P. Mcxted's blue chq. hen, Tweeny, 877 yards per mm., 3; J. Bolton's blue cliq. pied hen, Sun Splash, 806 yards per mm., 4.
The young birds commence with a race from Palmersfcon North this week-end.
