CHILLED BEEF EXPORTS.

The Commonwealth and Dominion bM, Port Hardy, from Brisbane and Sydney, ii due at London- on Monday next with a consignment of Australian chilled beef. A cablegram received from the steamer while at Suez is to the effect that the beef is carrying well. Prices realised on previous shipments of beef under the process and conditions applied in the case of the Port Hardy show a premium of about Id per pound over frozen beef. It is reported that Smithfield market is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Port Hardy shipment* which is expected to successfully complete the demonstrations that have been carried out over the past two years, and Australian graziers feel that should the meat arrive in good order the beginning of a better era will be inaugurated, while the export beet industry of Australasia will go forward more hopefully.
