THE NORTHUMBERLAND

NEW PATCHES REQUIRED

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

" GISBOENE, This Day. As a result of the movement of "the vessel in the seaway many of the manila ropes attaching collision mats to tho Northumberland carried away, necessitating new patches being affixed to the vessel before she again resumes her journey. In the wash of the sea tho old mats wore badly damaged. The position of the vessel shows little alteration to-day, the bows being no deeper than when, the steamer left the roadstead on Wednesday evening. No anxiety for the safety of the vessel is entertained.
