ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Advice has been received that the coun:7 d i l,! tli!? ts will be well represented at the; Wellington provincial amateur athletic championships, to be decided at Athletic Park next.Saturday. From the Wairarapa there will be at least twentythree competitors, among them E. A Rose, G._and W. Harvey, T. Oakley, and h «y?DK-lpn.l- Othel" Prominent country athletes will include Scotney (Feildmg), Lankey (champion walker from Dan-nevn-ke), and Sl'Dowall (hammer-thrower from Palmerston North). Two lady runners are coming from Napier, and there will be cyclists-from Levin and Hastings, ihe team to represent Wellington at the JNew Zealand championships will be chosen after the meeting by tho selectors, Messrs A. O. Kitto and G: Harrison.
