EMPRESS THEATRE.
Temptation," which commenced at the Empress Theatre to-day, fully justifies the good reports which preceded the initial screening. This Continental production lias been adapted from the celebrated I'rench love story by Pierre Benon, and the parts are taken by a French cast headed by Huguette Dufles of the Comedie I'rancais. This picture has everything in the way of entertainment. There is a very fine romance running through the picture, an excellent mystery, wonderful scenes of life in a Royal palace, and the ceremonies at a Royal wedding, colour photography of a fireworks display which was part of the wedding celebrations, gorgeous interior and exterior scenes, a celebrated Montmartre cabaret in full swing and a hunting party. The production must have entailed a lot of thought on the part of the producer and the attention to detail in the matter of dress and customs is a triumph. Huguette Dunes who is new to New Zealanders, is a finished actress, and her characterisation of the Grand Duchess is a revelation. The supporting - pictures will be a comedy, Play Ball," the latest Pathe Gazette, and a comedy cartoon. Seats may be booked at the Bristol till 5 p.m., and then by ringing the theatre.
